s of papers 25 and β-glucanase, except a low level of α-amylase activity (85,000 U/gm vs. 19,000,000 U/gm pure α-amylase). Results of chick growth at 21 d showed positive (P < 0.05) main effects of CP level and enzyme supplementation on BW and FCR. Birds receiving diets with higher CP content had higher BW (800 gm at 23% vs. 722 gm at 17% CP, P < 0.05). Birds fed diets supplemented with keratinase showed higher final BW than those fed identical diets without keratinase (853, 850, and 731 gm vs. 800, 808, and 722 for diets containing 23%, 21%, and 17% CP with or without enzyme, respectively). In addition, there was a positive interaction between the enzyme and CP level on BW and FCR. Diets containing higher levels of CP responded better to enzyme supplementation than those with lower CP content. Results of this experiment indicated that the growth performance of broiler chicks receiving adequately formulated diets could be further improved by dietary supplementation with the keratinase. Since zero or very low activities of other tested enzymes were found in the crude keratinase preparation, the contribution from those enzymes in growth performance is believed to be minimal.

Effect of Post-hatch Early Feeding Times Starter Supplemented with Egg Yolk and White of Boiled Chicken Eggs (Rhod Island Red) on Growth Performance, Viscera Development, and Immune Response in Broiler Chickens

The experiment aimed to study the effect of post-hatch early held feeding times starter supplemented with egg yolk and white on growth performance, viscera development and immune response in broiler chickens. The working hypothesis was based on the fact that better development of the gastrointestinal tract and immunity system in the first week of the chicks' life affects positively the growth p...

Effect of Different Levels of Nano-selenium on Performance, Blood Parameters, Immunity and Carcass Characteristics of BroilerChickens

The aim of the present study was to test the hypothesis that nano- seleniuminclusion in broilers’ diets can improve productivity and metabolic functions of broilers.Feed and water were provided ad libitum. A total of 180 one-day old male Ross 308 chicks were randomly assigned to six groups based on a completely randomized design, each with three replicates of 10 birds. One of the groups served ...

Effect of Tryptophan Supplementation in Protein Deficient Diets on Performance, Gut Development and Immune Responses in Broiler Chickens

The current trial was conducted to investigate effects of tryptophan (Trp) supplementation in crude protein (CP) deficient diets on performance, gut development and immune responses in broiler chickens. A total of 420 day-old broiler chicks (Ross 308) were assigned to one of 6 dietary treatments, ‎comprising 5 replicates in a completely randomized design including: 1) ‎control diet (CTL) (diet ...

Effect of Post Hatch Feed Deprivation on Yolk-sac Utilization and Performance of Young Broiler Chickens

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of post-hatch feed deprivation on yolk sac utilization and subsequent performance of young broiler chickens (280) up to 35 days of age. The experimental treatments included access to feed at 8 h intervals after hatch, up to 48 h (0, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 h). Water was offered ad libitum to all the groups immediately after placement. Results indi...
